HEMC Trailwave maintenance June 21, 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 a.m.

HEMC Trailwave fiber optic services may not be operational during a scheduled maintenance window on Thursday, June 21st from midnight through 6 a.m. in portions of Habersham and White counties.

This will include outlying areas near main cooridors Hwy. 115 from Cleveland to Clarkesville; Hwy. 255 (Blue Creek Road) in White County; and Hwy. 384 (Duncan Bridge Road) from the Pea Ridge vicinity in Habersham County to Hwy. 75 in White County.

HEMC Trailwave subscribers in those areas received an email notification last week.

2018 HEMC Board of Director Nominees

In compliance with the Bylaws, Article II, Section 2.03, you are hereby notified that the 2018 Annual Meeting of the Members of Habersham Electric Membership Corporation will be held at the Habersham Ninth Grade Academy Auditorium (Georgia Highway 197 between Mt. Airy and Clarkesville) Thursday, July 19, 2018.

HEMC Members Experience Outages Following an Overnight Storm

High winds and a hail storm late last night caused outages in areas of northern Habersham and White counties.  HEMC linemen, along with the Forestry and Service Departments worked throughout the night and into this evening to restore power to residents in both counties. 

 

HEMC Sends Crews to Virginia

Two HEMC crews are heading to Virginia this evening to help with power restoration after a severe storm caused thousands of homes and businesses to be without power.

Additional crews from other EMCs in Georgia will assist in this effort.

One of the guiding principles among electric cooperatives is coming to each other's aid in times of need.  When news of the destructive storm was received, HEMC linemen Ray Morrison, Chad Waters, Jason Reepe and Cody Thomas volunteered to go.
