HEMC Members Experience Outages Following an Overnight Storm

High winds and a hail storm late last night caused outages in areas of northern Habersham and White counties.  HEMC linemen, along with the Forestry and Service Departments worked throughout the night and into this evening to restore power to residents in both counties.

HEMC Sends Crews to Virginia

Two HEMC crews are heading to Virginia this evening to help with power restoration after a severe storm caused thousands of homes and businesses to be without power.

Additional crews from other EMCs in Georgia will assist in this effort.

One of the guiding principles among electric cooperatives is coming to each other's aid in times of need.  When news of the destructive storm was received, HEMC linemen Ray Morrison, Chad Waters, Jason Reepe and Cody Thomas volunteered to go.
